Density RF Lower Face and Neck Before & After

Say hello to tighter, lifted, glowing skin without surgery, needles, or recovery time.

The Density RF is a next-generation Korean radiofrequency treatment for firmer, smoother-looking skin.

Unlike single-mode RF devices that work at one depth, Density RF uses both Monopolar RF for deep tightening and Bipolar RF for skin surface refinement.

Think of it as a newer and better version of Thermage that is a comfortable treatment, delivers more consistent results, and has the ability to treat both laxity and skin quality in the same treatment.

Density RF is ideal for visible tightening without surgery for:

  • Lower Face: Typically includes the jawline, jowls, and perioral area
  • Neck: To treat “turkey neck” and looseness/fat under the chin (submental)
  • Full Face: For an overall lift while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles
  • Under Eyes: Smooth crepey under-eye skin
  • Abdomen: For skin laxity due to post-weight loss or postpartum

Density RF is non-invasive radiofrequency that works at the structural level with no needles, no downtime, to deeply remodel tissue for lasting results.

Sessions are 30 to 90 minutes depending on treatment area. Treatments are comfortable and there is no downtime.

Peak results are visible in 6 to 12 weeks with ongoing improvement continuing for up to 6 months.

All Density RF treatments are tailored and priced to your specific needs.

Density RF at a Glance

What is Density RF?

Density RF is an advanced radiofrequency technology from Korea that delivers precisely controlled heat into multiple layers of the skin, providing deep tissue remodeling.

This thermal stimulation:

  • Triggers collagen remodeling
  • Improves skin density and structure
  • Tightens loose or sagging skin
  • Enhances overall skin quality

Unlike microneedling RF or traditional devices like Thermage, Density RF is completely non-invasive, no pins, no numbing cream required, and it provides uniform energy distribution for predictable, natural-looking results.

How Does Density RF Work?

Density RF is an advanced radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening treatment that combines both monopolar and bipolar energy in a single pulse to stimulate collagen at every layer of the skin.

The monopolar energy penetrates deeply to heat the deeper dermis, triggering collagen contraction and long-term remodeling for firmer, tighter skin. At the same time, bipolar energy targets the more superficial layers to refine texture, smooth fine lines, and improve overall skin quality.

What Areas Can Density RF Treat?

Density RF is ideal for those who want visible, lasting tightening without surgery. These are the most common treatment areas.

Treatment AreaBenefit
Full FaceDelivers an overall lifting and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
Jawline & NeckTreats “jowls”, the loss of definition along your chin, and tightens the loose skin that often accumulates with age.
Under EyesCan safely treat the skin around the eyes to lift drooping lids and smooth out “crepey” texture.
BodyFirming of skin on the abdomen, arms, or thighs.

What to Expect During a Density RF Treatment

What to Expect, Start to Finish

1. Consultation

We evaluate your skin tone, laxity, thickness, and tissue quality. We discuss your goals honestly, including when a different treatment or surgical referral is the more appropriate recommendation. There’s no pressure to proceed the same day.

2. The Treatment (45–75 minutes depending on area)

After skin is cleansed, the provider performs systematic passes with the Density handpiece over the treatment zone. You’ll feel a warm, deeply penetrating sensation, many find it comfortable. The adjustable cooling keeps the surface protected throughout. No topical anesthetic is required.

3. Immediately After

Mild erythema (redness) and a warm sensation are common and typically resolve within 2 to 4 hours. Some patients notice an immediate “lifted” appearance due to acute collagen fiber contraction; expect this initial effect to soften over the next few days as tissue returns to baseline before progressive improvement begins.

4. Progressive Improvement (Weeks 4–16)

As new collagen matures, firmness, elasticity, and overall skin quality continue to improve. The most meaningful results typically peak around 3 to 4 months post-treatment. This is the phase most patients find most impressive, and most distinct from superficial treatments that offer only a temporary effect.

5. Maintenance Protocol

Most patients respond optimally to an initial series of 1 to 2 treatments spaced 4 to 6 months apart. Because collagen naturally depletes with age, annual or semi-annual maintenance treatments sustain results over time. We’ll create a personalized long-term protocol based on your individual response.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Density RF?

Density RF is an excellent option for adults who want to improve the appearance of skin laxity, thinning skin, and early signs of aging without surgery or downtime. It’s especially well‑suited for mature skin age 40+, where collagen decline, sun exposure, and environmental stressors are more visible.

You may be a good candidate if you want to improve the appearance of:

  • Mild to moderate skin laxity
  • Early jowling or loss of jawline definition
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Crepey or thinning skin
  • Sun‑related texture changes
  • Under‑eye laxity
  • Neck or lower‑face sagging
  • Overall firmness and elasticity

Density RF is ideal for:

  • Early to moderate skin laxity on the face, neck, or body
  • Structural tightening without surgery or needles
  • All Fitzpatrick skin types
  • Active lifestyles who can’t accommodate downtime
  • An adjunct to injectables or resurfacing for structural support
  • Protecting your existing collagen bank
  • Those who who found HIFU or Thermage too uncomfortable

Who Should Not Receive Density RF? (Contraindications)

Density RF is safe for many adults, but certain conditions may make the treatment inappropriate. These are general contraindications for radiofrequency‑based skin tightening—not personalized medical advice.

Density RF is not recommended for individuals who have:

  • Active skin infections, open wounds, or rashes in the treatment area
  • Active acne or cystic breakouts in the treatment area
  • Metal implants, plates, or screws directly under the treatment site
  • Pacemakers, defibrillators, or other implanted electronic devices
  • Active autoimmune skin conditions in the treatment area
  • Uncontrolled thyroid disorders affecting the neck area
  • Active cold sores or herpes outbreaks
  • Recent facial surgery in the treatment area
  • Recent neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, etc.) or dermal filler in the exact treatment zone (timing matters)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding (RF is generally avoided as a precaution)
  • A history of poor wound healing or keloid formation

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Density RF different from the RF devices used in older treatments like Thermage?

Traditional monopolar RF like Thermage works at a single tissue depth and delivers energy in a single mode. Density uses sequential monopolar and bipolar RF, two distinct frequencies working in coordinated pulses. The bipolar component addresses superficial skin quality that monopolar RF cannot reach effectively. Clinical data shows this combination drives up to 5× more collagen density than monopolar RF alone.

Is the Density RF painful?

Most people do not find the Density RF painful. It’s usually described as a deep, penetrating warmth, kind of like a hot stone massage. The Density’s Smart Adjustable Cooling (SAC) system protects the skin surface throughout. No topical anesthetic is required. Density is generally considered more comfortable than HIFU and significantly more comfortable than RF microneedling.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients see meaningful improvement after 1 to 2 sessions spaced 4 to 6 months apart. The number depends on the degree of laxity, treatment area, and your individual collagen response. Results are cumulative; ongoing annual maintenance is encouraged to preserve your collagen investment over time.

When will I treatment see results?

There is often an immediate lifting effect from acute collagen contraction that partially subsides in the first few days. Progressive improvement then builds as new collagen synthesizes over 4 to 16 weeks. Peak results typically occur around 3 to 4 months post-treatment. This timeline is biology, not a marketing claim; collagen remodeling takes time.

Is Density RF safe for darker skin tones?

Yes. Because Density RF does not rely on light or chromophore targeting, it is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types I – VI. The real-time impedance calibration adjusts energy delivery based on each individual patient’s actual skin resistance, not a preset protocol for a skin type category.

How much does a Density RF treatment cost?

The cost of Density RF at our Scottsdale medical spa depends on the treatment area and the number of sessions recommended. We’ll provide a personalized quote during your consultation and discuss package options to suit your goals and budget.
