How Does the Tixel Treatment Work?
The Tixel treatment head has a small heated metal plate covered with tiny heated cones. It delivers heat energy to the skin’s surface without any damage to deeper skin tissues.
This “controlled injury” stimulates the body to use its own healing power to produce more elastin (skin scaffolding) and collagen (skin plumpness).
The new collagen and elastin formed in the four to six weeks following treatment diminishes fine lines wrinkles while tightening up and smoothing sagging skin.
Advanced bioactives applied in-clinic help accelerate the healing process and amplify treatment results.
The Tixel is safe enough to treat to all the way up to the lash line. The resulting Tixel eye lift is one of the features that sets the Tixel apart from other fractional skin resufacing machines.

Tixel for Dry Eyes
The Tixel is the only FDA cleared energy device to treat crow’s feet, and the technology is FDA approved for treating Dry Eye Disease.
Dry eyes are caused by an imbalance in the composition of tears or in the quantity of tears produced. The imbalance often originates in the meibomian glands that produce oil that helps keep tears from evaporating.
The Tixel eyelid treatment is performed on the both the superior and inferior eyelids above the meibomian glands that are adjacent to the eyelid rim. The healing process helps revitalize the meibomian glands, which in turn helps improve the quality of the tear film.
Is Tixel Better Than Laser?
Tixel uses thermal energy, a type of energy that will not harm your eyes like laser energy does. That makes it the most effective technology for tightening and smoothing your eyelids and surrounding skin. The Tixel’s non-surgical blepharoplasty can delay and even eliminate the need for a surgical blepharoplasty.
The Tixel is the only energy device that is safe to treat to the lash line without eye shields. It is so safe, you don’t even need to remove your contacts!

Tixel Skin Resurfacing Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during a Tixel skin resurfacing treatment?
If your treatment is for an eye lift or full face treatment, numbing cream is applied for 30 to 45 minutes. Tixel treatments are so tolerable numbing is not required for other treatment areas.
During the treatment, the heated plate in the machine handpiece touches the skin for a fraction of a second, delivering a short burst of heat to create a controlled injury.
Once the treatment area(s) have been covered with two passes, either a medical grade Growth Factor Solution or Exosomes are massaged into the treated skin to help accelerate the healing process and boost results.
What Should I Expect After a Tixel Treatment?
After a Tixel treatment, skin is slightly red and may be a little swollen for 3 to 4 hours. There may be a heat sensation somewhat like a mild sunburn for 2 to 3 hours. Downtime is 0 to 5 days, depending on your treatment intensity.
The day after a Tixel treatment make-up can cover up any micro-crusting or pin dot scabs that will naturally fall off in a few days. Optimal results are visible at 4 to 6 weeks post-treatment.
